An Austin Wedding Planner may sometimes take a step away from the wedding plans and work within the industry learning how to be better in what we do. Our team is a huge believer in continuing our education and supporting those around us! This month we had the honor of coordinating the November NEAWP organization’s monthly meeting. Sara Abrams, from our team, began exploring the event industry while she was in college. She interned with some of Austin’s best wedding vendors. Taking her previous experience, she knew the “Intern Confidential” discussion topic would be great for the Austin business owners. There was a panel of six, five of which, were able to share their past roles as interns. One of the six was currently working as an intern, and brought current happenings to the table. They all offered up words of wisdom to the audience. The remainder of the meeting was an open dialogue format, where industry professionals could ask questions and gain insight into internships within the industry. Overall, interns are an incredible asset to a team’s success. A well trained intern makes for a knowledgeable professional later.
An event can not happen without its many parts. This meeting had rentals provided by Premiere Events of Austin, bright florals by Jennifer at Arthouse Austin Floral, up lighting by Intelligent Lighting Design, music and technical support by DJ Gatsby of Austin, tied together by the creations of Scripted Ever After. The lush green views of the River Place Country Club paired with the delicious lunch made the meeting space somewhere we want to visit again and again. Ended on a sweet note with Moojo ice cream sandwiches. Thanks again to all our vendors and the NEAWP members for attending!
